I spent the weekend catching up with family in Chester and managed to fit in a local race just over the border in North Wales.
The Ceiriog Canter fell race was 10.6km and had 1750ft of ascent.
It was a pretty low key - the sort of race where they call you to the start line and no one really wants to step forward. Anyway I had a good race and from before halfway had settled down into 3rd or 4th place running shoulder to shoulder with another runner for the rest of the race. I just managed to pull a few metres ahead in the final run in to the finish to secure 3rd place in a time of 49.32. The winner 46.15 I think and was a long way ahead.
