Colin, Mike and local runner Craig Rendle (and newly crowned Lothian and Borders Police XC champion) headed to Dalkeith Country Park on Wednesday night for a 10k night race. We had some good results with Mike in a podium position until late in the race when he took a wrong turn in the dark, but managed to recover for 5th place. Colin and Craig ran shoulder to shoulder for most of the race until Craig put in a burst with 500m to go and opened up a 5 sec gap, with Craig finishing 6th and Colin 7th.
It was wet, wild and muddy evening and about 90% of the course was on trails. Results available here:

A series was announced dates stretching over the summer with 10k and 20k-ish offroad trail races (mainly flat) with venues such as Dalkeith, John Muir Trail near Dunbar and the Pentlands as well as a 55k ultra in the Lammermuirs:
