The rain started just as the race started so it was a bit slippery on the slopes of Lee Pen this afternoon.
Mike McGovern ran away with the race - first to the top and unchallenged on the descent - well done!
Wull was 2nd to the top but lost a couple of places on the slippery descent to ex-Moorfoot Mark McLeod (2nd) and a a Teviotdale runner (3rd).
Elsewhere, Kenny's cautious start/power walk tactics got him to the top in 5th place, before Steve and Colin blasted past on the downhill to finish 5th(Steve), 6th(Colin) and 7th (Kenny).
Alex was only a few places further back after a very strong ascent, to take the Ladies prize uncontested.
Fourteen runners started.

"The leg-sapping Lee Pen Hill Race also produced a local winner with Cardrona’s Michael McGovern crossing the line more than a minute ahead of Mark McLeod of Peebles and Teviotdale Harrier Craig Greive. The 40-year-old Moorfoot said: “Coming into the final 100 metres I could ease off a wee bit but it was tough. It was slippy and windy up there. “I’m delighted to have won.” Alex Campbell from Peebles was the first woman finisher – just over two minutes behind McGovern."
