Moorfoots at Lasswade 10 miler

Colin in action...
The Lasswade 10 mile road race unofficially marks the end of the XC season and the start of the road racing season, and usually proves to be a good judge of winter form for all those 'returning to the road'.

A capacity field lined up at the start, with six Moorfoots in the mix this year, looking to put down a good start to the season. Despite the sun being out for this year's race, a cool breeze kept the temperatures on the chilly side, but still ideal racing conditions.

First Moorfoot home was Mike Reid (57:05 7th) securing a top 10 placing in a strong field.
Wull Hynd, returning after rest from a niggling injury, put in a strong run for 11th place in 58:36 (and 3rd MV). Mike McGovern's 24th place (61:22) secured an overall Moorfoot team placing of 4th, behind Costorphine, HBT and Lasswade.

Darin came home close behind in 61:41 (28th), with a very strong run from Colin Williams (62:55, 37th) showing that his early season training for a Spring marathon must be going well.

Last Moorfoot home was Kenny in a new PB of 64:39 (47th) - more than a minute faster than last year !

This years race also incorporated a Scottish Vets series leg, and a chance catch up with some former clubmates from Calderglen Harriers. I heard you liked the 'hills'...!!
