Moffat Gala 15km Run

Some Moorfoots were putting in good performances in Moffat on damp and muggy Tuesday night for their annual 15km Gala Run.

It is a very challenging course - the first 3.75 miles undulates with a subtle but gradual rise of 350 feet.  This is followed by the most challenging part of the route, just under one mile of steep, rutted & stony farm track rising 550 feet. On reaching the top, there is a spectacular 4.6 mile downhill descent back into Moffat town centre on the A701.

Every year I finish thinking how tough it is and every year I come back for more! A very well organised event and highly recommended

Gillian Carr stole the show as 1st Woman (and 1st F40), 17th overall 65.49. Colin Williams was 8th in 61.17 (2nd M40), Dean Carr 13th in 63.50 (3rd M40), Paul Nichol 9th M50, 28th and 68.58. Also Peebles runner Scott McDonald was second overall in 54.03 and first M50. A good day out all round. Full Results
