Moorfoot Weekly Email 27th May 2024

Club News.

The club has been busy this weekend with members running in the Stornoway half marathon, and closer to home the Wobbly Bridge Race in St Boswells and the Edinburgh Marathon Festival.  Martin has done a good write up in the club champs blog which you can read about here:

Wobbly Bridge race results:

Peter Caddick has done a write up of the Stornoway weekend on the clubs Facebook page.

Track taster night 11 June 7:15 pm.
We are holding a training session on the running track at Tweedbank on the 11th June.  This will be a taster session to introduce members to what its like to run on a track.  If it proves to be popular we plan to run some more track sessions over the summer.  If you would like to come or want more information please let me know.

Club Memberships.
A gentle reminder to members that this year's membership fees are due and can be paid via Entry Central.

Club Vision working group.
The committee would like views from the membership on what they would like from our running club.  It would be great if we could get a small group together to discuss this and help the committee to form a vision for the club.  If you are interested, please let me know.  No one has come forward thus far.  It's a great opportunity to get involved.

Club kit working group.
The club are looking to partner with a sports clothing manufacturer to offer a range of club apparel via an online store.  If anyone would like to be involved in this please get in touch.  Again, no one has come forward for this.  A great opportunity to help design our club apparel.

Mental Health Awareness.
For those who took part in the 1st Headstrong mental health in sport session, there is a 2nd session focusing more on Suicide awareness.  It is advised that only those who attended the first workshop attend the second due to it being informed level training. It is proposed to hold this on Wednesday 12th June. Venue TBC.
