Club Champs Update No 4 - Monday 27th May

By my maths at least 24 Moorfoots racing this weekend - please let me know if I missed anyone!

On Saturday, up in Stornaway at the half Gillian Carr was 3rd Female home and 2nd FV40, in a cracking time of 1:36:30. Dorian Kimenai, Kerry Law, Sarah Burthe, Ewan Gibson & Tim Warner were the other Moorfoots Running on what looked like a fun weekend with Pete Caddick leading the cheerleading & photography effort.

Also on Saturday at the EMF there were great runs from Thea Harris from the Moorfoot Juniors and Andrew Fish - I think they got the best of the Edinburgh weather this weekend.

On Sunday, it was the Wobbly Bridge trail race, a Moorfoots favourite, with a dozen Moorfoot Runners in action. David Carter-Brown was first overall having lead from the off, with Dean Carr picking up 2nd MV. Carol Moss was 1st FV and 2nd female overall, promoting her to the main podium, making space for Coreen McGovern to sneak on to the FV podium with Alex Campbell 3rd female overall and 2nd Female senior. Other Moorfoots in action were Jen Misak, Kiri Langmead, Vicky Morrison, Ali Hilton, Maggie Oliver, Neil Jackson, Ian Munro & Scott Gourlay.

Also on Sunday, up in Edinburgh, Amy Alcorn & Paul Nichol were braving the deluge in the Edinburgh Half. And finally, with perhaps the biggest personal achievement of the weekend, Fee Hodgkiss completed her first marathon - very well done Fee!

So feeding all that into the spreadsheet - Carol continues to hold the lead and is the first to reach 100 points, leading Gillian and Jen who are joint second on 80, Alex & Andrew in joint 4th followed by Fee in 6th. It's proving very close at the top.

Full spreadsheet:

There is now a bit of breather before a trilogy of races w/c 16th June: 7 Hills, Black Rock and Eildon Hill Race - all perfectly timed for Beltane Dodgers!
