Eastgate Talk - Phil Mack and Andrew Murray

Many of you will know Phil who has recently set up a physio practice in Peebles. Even if you don't know him, or Andrew Murray (no, not that one), this talk could be interesting and informative.

Peebles 0 - 1 Cork

No it's not the wrong sport! Peebles loss is Ireland's gain as Sarah McCormack flits today to join boy-friend and now PC Paul in Cork where she will finish writing up her PhD. She has been a star performer for the club these last three and a half years and although we might still see her in a Moorfoot vest over the summer when she races domestically in the UK, her days of slogging the hills, trails and roads in and around Peebles are at an end. We wish her well for this season, the European Mountain Running Champs in June being her next main target, and for the future.

Moorfoots on the podium

Congratulations to Sarah McCormack and Zaynah Aziz who both took to the podium today.

Representing her Irish club Clonliffe, Sarah won the Irish Inter-Clubs Cross-Country (effectively the Irish National Champs) with what sounds like her trademark kick over the last 300m. Irish report here www.athleticsireland.ie/content/?p=37107

Meanwhile at the Emirates Stadium in Glasgow, Selkirk based Zaynah Aziz took a fantastic bronze medal in the U18 3000m, all the more amazing considering she only turns 14 next week!

Here she is in her new Moorfoot vest alongside training partner and fellow Souter Rowan Marr who also took bronze in the U20 3000m (men's!).
