A blustery, squally day on Cademuir for the Club Handicap and testing of 3K and 6K courses for Scottish Junior Hill Running events in 2014 to be hosted by the Moorfoots.
Beth making uphill running look easy |
In the 3K race, Beth Hobbs was first home on handicap and recorded the fastest scratch time - another local star in the making.....
In the 6K race, Kenny took advantage of a generous handicap and a strong tailwind on the descent to come home ahead of the field. (I can hear the Handicapper sharpening his pencil as I type...)
A big thanks to all those who took part and special mention for the organiser (Gregor) marshals (Alana, Brian and Tom), timekeepers (Eilidh and MikeP) and sweeper (Scout) for braving the elements.
Post race chat was very positive - a few minor tweaks to the course - and another club event soon over the same courses.
The Scottish Hill Running Events are provisionally penciled in for the equivalent weekend in 2014 (16/17-Aug)
