Gypsy Glen Hill Race Report 2014

59 runners (37 men & 22 woman) took part in this years Gypsy Glen race on Wednesday night. It was won by Don Naylor of Hunters Bog Trotters with the Welsh International steeple chaser from the Manchester Commonwealth Games showing his class but winning the 5 mile, 1000 feet ascent course by over a minute in a time of 32.21 with Darrel Hastie of Kelso second. The first Moorfoot home was Andrew Cox in 5th (34.51) with other Moorfoots picking up prizes being Mike McGovern in 7th and winning the first M Vet 40 prize, and Carol Moss second woman, behind the vastly experienced and decorated Peebles athlete Susan Ridley (Edinburgh AC).

Thanks to the Peebles Community Council for providing marshals, Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue for providing safety cover, the local Freewheelin' Brewery for supplying prizes and Scout Adkin for making the presentations.
