Moorfoot Festive Run Results, Innerleithen - Sunday 20th Dec

Another great turnout by the juniors and seniors in Innerleithen at the festive runs today, to follow up on the Cardrona runs last month . Details explained in the earlier blog post http://moorfootrunners.blogspot.com/2020/12/moorfoot-festive-handicap-innerleithen.html

A big thank you to the marshalls and timekeepers (no easy task with everyone finishing so close together): Fiona and Alice Williams, Dave and Lewis Gaffney, and Oli Jepsen. Also thanks to Debby Strain and Innerleithen Golf Club for use of the car park and for the cafe being open for us to enjoy refreshments after, and the club for subsidising drinks and treats.

Well done everyone and it was great to see people out and enjoying themselves.

We are awaiting the updated Scottish Athletics guidance following the announcements of tightening of COVID restrictions yesterday to understand how this may affect the plans for training and other social runs over the festive periods, and will update once we can.

CANCELLED DUE TO COVID SITUATION

Colin is organising a run at 10am on the morning of  Hogomany / New Years Eve (Thursday 31st Dec in case you are not sure!).  Meeting point outside No.1 Café, on the Innerleithen High Street at the junction of Traquair Road.

There will be a high level and low level option depending on weather - low level route as shown here from 2017 https://www.strava.com/activities/1334538502

The high level route will be the same second half of the run back from Loch Eddy in Glen Estate, but with the first half climbing up the side of Cardrona Forest.

We expect the run to take up to 2-3hrs so plan accordingly, snacks, spare warm top, body cover in case we have any extended stops. Depending on the spread of runners we can let the group split into two so all paces can be accommodated.

Glen Estate is a bit of gem and largely over looked. Here are some pics to give you a flavour:
