Christmas drinks and food, Tuesday 3rd December, 8pm at the Glentress Hotel

As we race towards the end of another year in Moorfoot Runners, this years’ annual Christmas meal will be held at The Glentress Hotel on Tuesday 3^rd December, 8pm.  The cost for the two course meal will be £25 per head.

If you could please let me know if you wish to attend by Friday 29^th November and we can confirm numbers for the booking.

Tinto Hill Race 2019

Three Moorfoots took part in the Tinto Hill Race on Saturday in a field of almost 200 runners on a lovely day for running – apart from very heavy (i.e. muddy and slippy) underfoot conditions. Good running by Mike Goddard who won the M70 category (sorry couldn't find a pic of Mike), Andy Cox 17th overall and Brian Smith 20th in M40 class - well done. Border XC Series 2019/20 - Race 1 Lauder, 3rd Nov

A good turn out at the first leg of the Borders Cross Country Series 2019-20. Here's Dean Carr's report:

If Carslberg organised Cross Country races this would be it !!!!.

Heavy rain over night, rivers in full speight, super muddy hills, it had it all.

A healthy contingent of Moorfoots huddled at the start line amoung the various border clubs for the first race of the season in Lauder. The race started with a lap of the football field before heading down to the river for a rather tricky run along a very narrow path with some very slippy board walks. After avoiding sliding into the river it was a long tough climb up the Southern Upland way. There was a fairly hairy descent (which I think would have been classified a black run in skiing) sliding down the mud to the valley floor. Then was a fast run back along the valley with several burns to jump, including one which required a spot of waist high immersion before a guelling slog up a muddy hill through the gorse before a final blast down a rocky lane (where the sole of my Innov8 decided to detach) and back round the football field.

Judging my the big smiles and peoples faces I would say they enjoyed the race. Great running from the Moorfoot contingent Andy Cox, Darin Dougal, Dean Carr, Carol Moss, Gillian Carr, Ian Munro, Lucy Oldham and Mike Pearson - special mention to Carol and Gillian's second places!
