A muckle of Moorfoots at this years race - 'ye canna whack a gid haggis dinner' as someone once said...and this race has one, as well as a fantastic course up and around the Three Bretheren and the Southern Upland Way.
Very different conditions to last years mild/muddy combo - this year was a return to snow/sunshine and a cold northerly wind, so times a wee bit down on last year generally.
Moorfoot top dog was James Britton - a solid 6th place in a field that gets stronger each year.
Prize winner of the day was Mike McGovern with the race MV40 prize.
Honourable mentions for Alan Elder, taking 11mins off his time from last year, and Laurence Carvalho for nursing his pal Scott around the course when he turned his ankle.
Well done to the other old boys...where were the ladies ?
Great event organised by the Selkirk Community Fund Runners (who also host the Philiphaugh Hill race in August) - magic formula of course/venue/nosh/hot showers ! and plenty of friendly banter and a relaxed atmosphere - and the money goes to good causes, not least the local mountain rescue.
Same time next year...see you there....
