Scott on form at Lasswade 10 Mile

Scott Macdonald had a very good race at Lasswade 10 mile on Sunday 6 March. Scott clocked 61.47 on the very challenging course - an event PB for him and a 6 min 11 secs average split, improving his time by 26 sec from last year and came 17th (4th M40) out of over 300 finishers. He lost 2 positions on the last 2 miles due to the very muddy slippy country track which did not suit him and his racing shoes, otherwise Scott had a very good run. The route is not an easy one, undulating and with some tight corners. The conditions were a lot better than last year - it was still and cold, but dry, with sunshine and not much wind. it was a very competitive field with the first runner (Bryan Mackie from Edinburgh AC) finishing in 55.48 and the first lady finishing in 59.54 (Hayley Haining from Kilbarchan AAC). In his Lasswade vest, out of loyalty presumably to his employers, Brian Hood placed 186 of 306 finishers in 1.21.15 - 5mins faster than last year!
