Moorfoot Innerleithen Festive Handicap 2021 report

The 2021 Moorfoot Festive Handicap and junior race was in Innerleithen today. There was a good turnout in foggy conditions. And also thank you to Mike Goddard for very kindly volunteering to cover the cost of the hot drinks and cakes from the golf clubhouse cafe after.

First up were the U12s with six of the newest club members doing the 1 mile hilly route. Well done all - results below.

The senior handicap had 21 runners. It was won by Dorien Kimenai from Kerry Law. Fastest scratch time of the day was clocked by Simon Hammond in 30:14 eclipsing the course record set by Marty Davidson last year. Beth Hanson also set the female course record. Some cracking runs and close racing with the handicapping meaning there was a lot of action it was all a bit of fun, and an enjoyable morning was had. Special mention to Danny Lavin for missing his start time because he was tying his laces!
