Borders XC league Dunbar race report

BORDERS XC LEAGUE -DUNBAR

A depleted squad of Moorfoots headed over from sleety Peebles to the sunny East Lothian to run in a new look XC course in Dunbar.

The race started from Torness Nuclear power station where there was ample parking and use of toilets in the near by caravan park.

The race had a fast start on a tarmac, before heading down onto the beach for a short dash to a steep up and down sand dune section.  We there then "treated" to a lovely Spitall-esque run out and back on a beautiful beach before a nice track along the seawall behind the power station before a final fast leg sapping lap of the field before finishing back in the car park.

Beach section of the course.

A great run by all Moorfoots in which we scored both 3rd male and female teams on the day.

Team photo, sorry missed a few guys from the photo.

The real highlight was a trip to a nearby trucks cafe - the Cedar cafe for good food at good prices.

Sunday road and Scampi at the Cedar Cafe.

Two more races to go in the series (Chirnside and Gala) surely we are up for a top 3 finish in the team events
