Three Moorfoot runners, Darin Dougal, Scott McDonald, and Alan Elder ran the Gala Harriers race on Sunday. It was an absolutely gorgeous day for it with temperatures around 20 degrees celsius. The race was a 2 lap course starting and ending on the track of Tweedbank Sports Centre. The field was fast and competitive, with a lot of Gala Harriers as well as other local running clubs taking part. Darin came 9th with a time of 37:29 (2nd M40), Scott was 11th with a time of 37:58 (4th M40). Alan came 27th place in a time of 44:14 (6th M40). Apart from the 10k race there was also a 3k race; a lot of the juniors took part in the 3k race and then helped at the finish of the 10k race, handing out medals, water and bananas. The beautiful weather had attracted quite a few spectators, and the atmosphere was very friendly. A good race was had by all.
