Fantastic news from Ben Lomond today where Beth Hobbs (right) claimed the Scottish U15 Girls hill race championship title with a resounding win, leading from gun to tape on the uphill only 2.1km course.
And there were silver medals too for both Mairi Wallace in the U17 Women's race over 2.8km uphill only, just being outgunned in the final stretch by North District XC champ Grace Whelan, and Ethan Elder in the 2.1km U15 Boys race. Showing improved form from the East Lomond race two weeks ago, Ethan led until inside the final 100m when he was just ousted from the gold medal position by one of the MacWhinnie boys from Fife AC.
