There was loads of success at the 2022 of the Tweed Valley Trail Run (previously the Tunnel Run but no run through the tunnel this year as the bats were getting disturbed!).
The club has had lots of success in previous editions with many club members featuring on, and even topping podiums in the past.
2022 was no different - new member David Carter Brown won the 20km by a large margin - 6 mins - to go sub 1h30. Alex Campbell was 2nd Under-40 woman - At the start Alex said her aim was simply to complete a 20km within a year of becoming a mum and she smashed it!! Colin made the Over 40 podium in 3rd place - 4th overall. Alan Elder was 3rd M50 (and only 2 months before he becomes M60), Robert Wilson was 1st M60. Dorien Kimenai and Sam Laydon both had strong runs too.
In the day 10k Coreen McGovern just missed the over 40 podium as 4th F40.
This year there was a night 10km too and the Moorfoots excelled again - and by again I mean David and Alex doubled up - Alex winning the woman's race outright and David taking third overall, and 1st Over 40!
But it was another Moorfoot Nick Boyd who won the night race overall in the fast time of 38:30, with Danny Lavin 3rd Under 40, and Mike McGovern 1st M50, and 2nd Over 40.
All in all a fantastic set of results for the club on its home patch. Full results here.
Some photos from the day podiums here, and I'm sure more will be posted by the event here soon: https://www.facebook.com/tweedvalleytrailrun
