Lee Pen Hill Race Report 2015

There were four Moorfoots in action at the St. Ronan's Games Lee Pen Hill Race in Innerleithen. There was a select field of 15, but a very high standard with the top two men both Great Britain orienteers and the top woman a Scottish hill international.

It was won by Scott Fraser in 25.40 although he had a few minutes lead at the top and took a detour on the descent. Had he not then surely the course record would have been in threat. Charlotte Morgan beat the woman's course record by 20 seconds.

As far as the Moorfoots were concerned first home was Lucas in 4th (27.20) scooping the first local (Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Cadrona), followed by Colin in 6th (29.33) in his first race as a Vet and his first win as a Vet! Benjamin had the stronger climb and was leading Colin to the top and finished one place behind (30.30) with Kenny taking 10th (33.10) having earlier been on band duty for the processions.
