Weekend Race round ups 12-13 & 19-20 October

Members have been busy the last two weekends so here's a round up of race results I've seen. If any wants to expand with reports then get in touch or post up on Facebook!

Saturday 12th Oct

Brian Smith finished the local Manor Water Hill Race in 19th out of 72 runners, and a very creditable 3rd M40 https://www.scottishhillracing.co.uk/RaceDetails.aspx?RaceID=RA-0106



Alan Elder was 10th and 3rd veteran male in the far north in Coigach Half Marathon in a strong time of 1:38:54 on not a flat course! https://coigach.run/

Ross Grieve was in the English Lake District for the 'Lakes in a Day' Ultra - 50 miles, 4000m ascent – a journey on foot from the very top of the Lake District at Caldbeck to the very bottom, at Cartmel, via the stunning Helvellyn Ridge and the western shoreline of Lake Windermere.
It took him an impressive 14h 52m 36s in another epic ultra outing

Sunday 13th Oct 

Martyn Davidson and David Gaffney did the Pentland Skyline, in 3:17:00 (53rd) and 3:33:50 (86th) respectively in a this very popular challenging race

Saturday 19th Oct 
Moorfoots (racing for their English Clubs) and ex Moorfoots were in action at the British Fell And Hill Relay Champs in the Peak District. Scottish Champ Scout Adkin on one side and World Cup champ Sarah McCormack ran together as a pair on Leg 2  in the quickest leg time by 30secs unfortunately wasn't enough to get Scout Adkin and Sarah Mac and their Ambleside team in the medals, finishing 4th in the end. Jacob Adkin anchored Keswick AC to gold in the men's race.

Sunday 20th Oct
Paul Nichol clocked a very impressive 3:28:36 at the Yorkshire Marathon to finish 35th in the M55 category in this popular race in York
